About The Los Angeles Film School
The Los Angeles Film School is an accredited college for Film, Recording Arts, Computer Animation, Game Production and Entertainment Business located on Sunset Boulevard in the heart of Hollywood. Approximately 18% (400) of the student population has an affiliation with the U.S. Armed Forces, most of which are combat veterans.
Military Services Department
The Military Services Department works in tandem with each division of the Los Angeles Film School and the Los Angeles Recording School* to ensure Veteran Affairs and Department of Defense education benefit compliance measures, assess career opportunities for Veterans and execute active outreach, to include community service initiatives. We interface with students, alumni and entertainment industry COI’s to foster a collaborative network, promoting employment and opportunities for professional exposure exclusively for Veterans.
The Annual Salute
Each November, in honor of Veterans Day, the Military Services Department invites patriotic sponsors, donors, industry professionals and employers to join forces and deliver an exclusive sequence of events for our Veteran community particular to each program of study. This year, on Saturday, November 10th, the GI Film Festival joins our institution for their Hollywood debut for our film students. Another new edition is our association with the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. A Game Tournament for our animation and game production students, as well as a game and film sound event will complete the daytime roster of events. These enrichment activities will close for the evening’s events: an award ceremony culminating in a dinner and auction at our campus in Hollywood, on the 237th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. Net proceeds from sponsorships and the auction will benefit the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund a 501©3, as well as the GI Film Festival, a veteran-owned and operated 501©3.
